Role: Lead Web Developer
Location: London - Oxford Circus
Workstyle: Hybrid - One day per week
ABOUT THE ROLE
• Evolve existing Banking digital experiences into a platform of assets for new clients
• Develop and expand on the Design System and Component Catalogue to better support a wider set of requirements
• Continue to expand the Front End capabilities of the technology offering
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development
• Design and develop new components for key UI experiences using React, Typescript & Next.JS
• Develop fully tested production code that contributes to the core capabilities of the Front End.
• Integrate with new banking services, ensuring a smooth, fluid journey that is secure and adhere to core coding
standards.
• Provide architectural insight and vision on evolving the platform in the future.
Leadership & Team management
• Engage and work productively with offshore engineers.
• Mentor other engineers, teach with empathy, learn from the team.
• Provide quality guidance and review contributions, ensuring standards are followed.
• Lead the Web Practice, supporting the team and ensuring good practice.
Client focus
• Participate in UX reviews and backlog refinement
• Monitor high quality software releases
• Contribute to discussions involving the architecture of the platform and how best to evolve this.
• Nurture close collaboration with visual designers
Compliance & Risk
• Raise any regulatory issue you stumble upon and help fix them
• Work with integrity in a regulated environment
• Learn from the mandatory training we all participate in
Experience required:
• Upwards of eight years’ experience working with FrontEnd libraries and frameworks, with specific experience
working with React, both client and server side rendered.
• Experience working with design systems and component catalogues, evolving these and utilising their reusable
assets in new experience builds.
• Deep knowledge of efficient CI/CD development and deployment practices including automation and infrastructure
as code.
• Exposure to Cloud and Headless Content Management System integrations (for example Contentful).
• Experience with development tooling for unit, UI, integration testing, static analysis, vulnerability detection and
dependency management, for example Node, Jest, React Testing Library, SonarCloud, NPM.
