Job Summary

Responsible for designing, building and overseeing the deployment and operation of technology architecture, solutions and software to capture, manage, store and utilize structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources. Establishes and builds processes and structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs, route appropriately and store using any combination of distributed (cloud) structures, local databases, and other applicable storage forms as required. Develops technical tools and programming that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize and transform data and to maintain, defend and update data structures and integrity on an automated basis. Creates and establishes design standards and assurance processes for software, systems and applications development to ensure compatibility and operability of data connections, flows and storage requirements. Reviews internal and external business and product requirements for data operations and activity and suggests changes and upgrades to systems and storage to accommodate ongoing needs. Work with data modelers/analysts to understand the business problems they are trying to solve then create or augment data assets to feed their analysis. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

Job Description

Summary:  

Responsible for assisting in the design of system architectures and solutions to bring to market new innovative products which span web service offerings. Assists in the planning, designing, integrating, testing, deploying and supporting of products. Helps with testing and operational activities. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience. 

Core Responsibilities:  

  • Lead a team of engineers to deliver BI & Analytics solutions with high quality and timeliness. 

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring system stability, performance and scalability. 

  • Drive automation initiatives across data pipelines, deployments, and monitoring frameworks. 

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs. 

  • Manage CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth integration of BI tools with enterprise data platforms. 

  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members. 

  • Ensure adherence to best practices in DevOps, security, and compliance. 

  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems. 

  • Supports the architecture, design, development, qualification and deployment of applications consistent with product and technical roadmaps. 

  • Works with engineering project management and principle engineers to deliver applications that meet or exceed product requirements, project schedules and reliability. 

  • Develops and applies performance and bandwidth models for interactive applications to document network impacts. 

  • Works with the product development and operations teams to define technical requirements to accompany existing product and operation requirements. Designs and develops use cases in support of the technical requirements. Transforms technical requirements into architecture. 

  • Defines and documents a detailed design to meet technical requirements and architecture. 

  • Drives the continuous improvement of deployed systems by consistently looking for ways to improve efficiency. 

  • Supports operations by providing deployment and sustained engineering support for all responsible systems and technologies. Diagnoses and resolves escalated field issues. 

Knowledge/Skillset: 

  • Hands-on expertise in: 

  • Snowflake (data warehousing, optimization, Governance & security) 

  • Databricks (data engineering, ML pipelines) 

  • SQL (complex queries, performance tuning) 

  • Spark (distributed data processing) 

  • Python (automation, scripting, data workflows) 

  • Tableau & Power BI (dashboard creation, performance optimization) 

  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP/ MinIO/ S3/Datalake). 

  • Strong knowledge of Airflow and other workflow orchestration/automation tools. 

  • Proficiency in monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging frameworks. 

  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in BI environments. 

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • 10+ years of Designing and implementing data models, big data platform, maintaining complex ETL pipelines, reusable automation components experience preferably within the Telecom/CPG industry and/or retail replenishment. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or related field. 

  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams in BI & Analytics projects. 

  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions. 

  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps culture. 

  • Knowledge of advanced automation frameworks and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible). 

  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution. 

  • Prior experience in enterprise-level BI transformations or cloud migrations.
