Role Purpose
The Salesforce Architect will play a key role in defining, delivering, and enhancing Heathrow’s Salesforce and Cloud solutions. With extensive expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Service Cloud, Order Management, and Experience Cloud, this role will lead the technical design and implementation of scalable e-commerce solutions within a retail environment. The focus will be on optimising platform performance and ensuring seamless integration across systems. Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud is highly desirable, as it will support the creation of unified, customer-centric solutions that drive operational efficiency and enhance customer engagement.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Design and implement scalable and robust Salesforce solutions to meet business requirements.

  • Lead the architecture and design of Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Salesforce Order Management solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Salesforce solutions with other enterprise systems.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed.

  • Conduct regular assessments of the Salesforce environment to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.

  • Stay up to date with the latest Salesforce features, releases, and best practices to ensure the organisation is leveraging the platform to its fullest potential.

  • Work closely with the product owners and suppliers to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Mentor and train junior team members on Salesforce architecture and development best practices.

  • Accountable for ensuring the technical and non-functional design of the Salesforce and cloud solutions are aligned with the overall strategic objectives and technical guidance set out by Strategy and Architecture.

  • Responsible for providing a continuous assessment of the technical quality of delivery and the technical performance of third-party development teams working on products on the Salesforce. This covers both project and DevSecOps activities.

  • Manage collaboration with the relevant team on the scope of changes with respect to cyber/data protection considerations.

  • Support ad-hoc requests which sit outside the Continuous Improvement DevSecOps teams.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential

  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Architect with a strong focus on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud and Salesforce Order Management.

  • Experience in implementing e-commerce solutions at scale within a retail environment.

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data models, and integration patterns.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce platform out-of-the-box functionality, including best practices regarding security options.

  • Strong technical foundation: advanced structured programming (APEX, Force.com, .Net, Java), relational database concepts and structures, structured system analysis and design methods, etc.

  • Salesforce Commerce and Salesforce Core Architect certified.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of Copado and DevSecOps.
