Role Overview

This role acts as a strategic bridge between Finance and Product, driving a robust unit economics and product costing framework across key portfolios (Voice, Connectivity, Mobility). It ensures accurate cost visibility, supports pricing decisions, and strengthens commercial insight through data-led financial modelling.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can navigate ambiguity, operate confidently in complex environments, and influence stakeholders across Product, Networks, Service, Digital, and Finance to deliver outcomes.

Role Purpose

To build and sustain an accurate, transparent, and insightful unit economics framework that enables strategic decision-making for core business portfolios.
The role drives financial precision, strengthens cost visibility, and enhances commercial alignment through cost flow ownership, analytical observations, and integration of cost inputs into pricing tools.

Key Responsibilities

1. Unit Economics and Financial Modelling

  • Develop and maintain unit economics models for assigned products and services.
  • Validate revenue and cost inputs with Product, Network, Service, and Digital teams to ensure accuracy, traceability, and integrity.
  • Identify key cost drivers, profitability levers, and commercial sensitivities.
  • Present periodic financial insights highlighting trends, variances, and strategic implications.

2. Insights, Observations and Recommendations

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis on internal and third‑party cost structures, pricing efficiency, and product margins.
  • Provide actionable insights to drive cost optimization, product profitability, and revenue improvement opportunities.
  • Translate analytical findings into strategic recommendations for leadership and product reviews.
  • Prepare clear, concise insight packs for business stakeholders summarizing risks, trends, and opportunities.

3. Pricing Tools and Cost Integration

  • Understand and work with legacy pricing tools as well as One Business Pricing platforms.
  • Design and lead the journey to integrate cost inputs into pricing tools for standardized, transparent cost and margin calculations.
  • Test pricing logic against real business outcomes; drive continuous improvement based on feedback and learnings.
  • Maintain updated documentation on assumptions, methodology, and model design.

4. Cost/Revenue Process Governance

  • Map end‑to‑end cost flows across 3rd Party, Product, Service, Networks, and Digital value chains.
  • Standardize cost attribution logic and ensure alignment across Finance and Product domains.
  • Implement validations, checks, and controls for cost accuracy, allocation, and completeness.
  • Collaborate with Digital and Product teams to automate, simplify, and streamline cost processes.

Required Mindset and Behaviours

(Emphasizing the attitude and influence qualities you want to highlight)

  • Self-starter with strong ownership: naturally takes initiative, progresses work independently, and drives outcomes end-to-end.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: able to structure unstructured problems, navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, and still move work forward with clarity.
  • Influences without authority: builds trust, aligns diverse teams, and shapes decisions even in matrix environments.
  • Commercially curious and analytical: proactively seeks insights, challenges assumptions, and focuses on value creation.
  • Outcome-driven: persistent in ensuring objectives are met despite obstacles or shifting business priorities.

Experience Requirements

We are open to candidates from multiple finance backgrounds, not restricted to any single vertical. Relevant experience may include (but is not limited to):

  • Business Finance / Finance Business Partnering
  • FP&A and performance management
  • Commercial Finance or Product P&L
  • Start-up or growth-stage finance roles
  • Pricing, costing, or unit economics
  • Taxation, Treasury, or Corporate Finance
  • Any strong finance capability with analytical and stakeholder engagement depth
  • The emphasis is on core financial strength, problem-solving, cross-functional influence, and commercial mindset — not on a narrow functional specialization.
    Qualifications
  • CA / CMA / MBA (preferably from a reputed or top-tier business school)
  • Strong grounding in financial analysis, modelling, and commercial understanding
  • Ability to simplify financial concepts and communicate insights clearly
  • Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
