Role Overview: 

The Intelligent Automation Senior Product Manager is responsible for defining, delivering, and optimising robotic process automation products that drive measurable efficiency, accuracy, and cost savings across the organisation. The role owns the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, partnering closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to scale automation in a sustainable, governed, and value‑led way.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define the long‑term Intelligent Automation product vision aligned to enterprise automation strategy.
  • Build and maintain a clear, prioritised roadmap based on business value, feasibility, and risk.
  • Identify automation opportunities across domains, working with business leads and process owners.

2. Delivery & Execution

  • Translate business problems into technical requirements and user stories.
  • Work with engineers to deliver initiatives on time and to standard.
  • Manage backlog, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria.
  • Oversee testing, deployment, hyper-care, and transition to BAU support.

3. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops, value assessments, and process walk‑throughs.
  • Communicate updates, risks, dependencies, and value realisation clearly and regularly.

4. Governance, Compliance & Risk

  • Establish and maintain governance & compliance principles with business functions in line with overall tech framework and platform code of practice.
  • Champion platform risk assessments, data handling compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Create initial handover documentation for Analyst team in-line with agreed standard and format.

5. Value Measurement & Reporting

  • Define and track any KPIs outside of the standard for each initiative.
  • Own the Value Management lifecycle (Rapid Value Assessment (RVA), cost efficiency, realisation.)
  • Support scaling of proven initiatives across brands/business units.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Use insights from production performance, user feedback, and operational data to review progress of each initiative.
  • Identify process simplification and standardisation opportunities before applying automation.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Proven experience working within Intelligent Automation in a large-scale organisation.
  • Strong understanding of the Intelligent Automation eco-system (e.g., RPA, ITPA, Process Mining, AI, Workflows)
  • Strong understanding of the Value Management lifecycle
  • Ability to translate business problems into technology use stories
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience running backlogs, writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and leading delivery squads.
  • Data‑driven with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience of delivering AI based capabilities across multiple business areas.
  • Experience working with complex enterprise environments and federated operating models.
  • Understanding of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of service transition, BAU support models, and ITIL practices.
