The VP, AI Product Owner is a pivotal Product Management role responsible for leading the development and execution of AI product strategy and capability development within Credit Services. This role focuses on delivering innovative AI solutions, accelerating AI adoption to improve productivity and efficiency, and reducing manual processes through intelligent automation. The position aligns with BNY’s strategic pillars—Be More for our Clients, Run our Company Better, and Power our Culture—and embodies our principles: Be Client Obsessed, Spark Progress, Own It, Stay Curious, and Thrive Together. As an Individual Contributor, the VP will partner closely across Credit Services and with Engineering, Credit Risk, and Operations to ensure AI products deliver measurable outcomes, are responsibly governed, and meet stakeholder needs.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Define, lead, and continuously refine the AI product strategy and roadmap for Credit Services, prioritizing high-value use cases that improve decision quality, reduce manual work, and enhance client and colleague experiences.
  • Drive end-to-end product lifecycle management—from discovery and requirements to delivery, scaling, and iteration—ensuring outcomes are measurable, compliant, and aligned to platform priorities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Credit Risk, and Operations to translate business problems into AI-enabled solutions; validate feasibility, define acceptance criteria, and orchestrate delivery through cross-functional squads.
  • Establish and track product KPIs/OKRs (e.g., efficiency gains, cycle-time reductions, adoption/usage, data quality, risk outcomes) to demonstrate value and inform investment decisions.
  • Champion AI adoption across the platform by developing enablement materials, process change plans, and training that help teams integrate AI into daily workflows safely and effectively.
  • Ensure robust risk management and governance across the AI product lifecycle, coordinating with internal partners to meet regulatory and policy requirements, manage model/solution risks, and uphold responsible AI practices.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement: gather feedback from users and control partners, manage intake and prioritization, and communicate roadmaps, delivery status, and outcomes clearly and regularly.
  • Develop business cases and value narratives to secure alignment and resources; own the backlog and ensure transparency into trade-offs, timelines, and dependencies.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Typically 5-8 years of experience, preferably in Financial Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to define product strategy and execute complex deliveries in cross-functional environments; strong backlog management, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills, preferably in Financial Services.
  • Solid understanding of AI concepts and application patterns (e.g., machine learning, NLP/LLMs, predictive analytics, intelligent automation) and how they translate into business value and operational change.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management, risk and control considerations, and governance in regulated environments; experience integrating compliance requirements into product design.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; adept at quantifying impact, setting outcome-oriented KPIs/OKRs, and using data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders, build consensus, and drive adoption.
  • Experience partnering with Engineering, Risk, and Operations teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions; comfort with agile practices and iterative delivery.
