About the Job

This is a great opportunity for a developing Product Manager to step into a hands‑on digital role within Sainsbury’s Financial Services, working on credit and point‑of‑sale finance across Argos.

You’ll focus on improving key customer journeys and experiences at checkout, working closely with internal teams and established partners such as NewDay, Klarna and PayPal. The role offers real exposure to digital credit products in a regulated environment, with strong support from senior product, commercial and risk colleagues.

This role is well suited to someone who has experience in digital product delivery, payments or financial services and is looking to broaden their skills, take on more ownership, and build confidence managing stakeholders in a complex environment.

Why Join Us

Joining the Financial Services team at Sainsbury’s means joining a business where you can make things happen. As Digital Credit Product Manager, you’ll gain hands‑on experience working on live digital credit products used by millions of customers, exposure to major financial services partners, and the opportunity to develop your product management capability in a supportive environment.

This is a hands‑on product role with real ownership — ideal for someone looking to grow their product career, broaden their experience in digital credit, or step into a role with greater influence and visibility. You’ll be part of a team that values integrity, customer‑centricity and continuous improvement, and you’ll be supported every step of the way.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead optimisation of specific digital credit journeys at checkout, identifying opportunities to improve customer experience and conversion
  • Support the delivery of the POS credit product roadmap, working with senior product leads and partners to prioritise enhancements
  • Analyse performance data (e.g. funnel drop‑off, conversion, approval insight) to inform product decisions and recommendations
  • Work with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure credit communications, disclosures and eligibility messaging are correctly implemented and approved
  • Configure and manage promotional credit offers on the Argos website, ensuring they are accurately set up, tested and aligned with agreed plans
  • Collaborate with UX, Engineering, Commercial and Risk teams to deliver improvements from discovery through to release
  • Support day‑to‑day partner delivery and performance tracking, escalating issues and risks where appropriate
  • Contribute insight and recommendations into wider POS Finance discussions and initiatives

Who You Are

  • You’re a product‑minded individual who enjoys working on digital customer journeys and improving real‑world experiences. You’re comfortable working with data, collaborating across teams, and learning how to balance customer needs with commercial and regulatory considerations.
  • You may not have owned a full product end‑to‑end before, but you’re confident taking responsibility for defined areas, asking the right questions, and working with more experienced colleagues to deliver outcomes.

Essential Criteria

Experience & Knowledge

  • Experience in digital product management, credit, payments, financial services, or a closely related commercial role
  • Understanding of how digital customer journeys, credit decisioning and checkout experiences work in a retail or FS environment
  • Experience updating customer‑facing digital copy within online journeys, balancing clarity, customer outcomes and regulatory requirements

Skills & Capabilities

  • Ability to draft, review and iterate on customer‑facing journey copy (e.g. eligibility messaging, promotional content, explanatory text) to improve customer understanding and outcomes
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and external partners, with support from senior colleagues
  • Confident communicator who can explain issues clearly and escalate appropriately
  • Organised and pragmatic, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Curious and outcome‑focused, with a desire to learn and continuously improve

Behaviours

  • Customer‑centric and commercially aware
  • Collaborative, proactive and delivery‑focused
  • Comfortable navigating a matrixed organisation and working across multiple teams
