Job title: Software Integration Engineer
Location: New Malden (On Site)
Salary: Circa £ 55,000
What you’ll be doing:
Integrate software applications into system builds
Install software on local integration facilities
Support systems at UK test sites and on-board Royal Navy ships
Demonstrate system integrity with both scripted and informal testing
Support usage of representative target hardware, investigate potential issues and release system builds for use on ship
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Familiar with Windows 10/Server 2016/2019 functionality
Demonstrable ability to methodically investigate complex systems to understand and isolate root cause
Strong experience with documentation and configuration management
A STEM related degree (science, technology, engineering, maths) OR equivalent working experience
Desirable:
Understanding of Debugging techniques
Experience of configuring, installing or integrating windows applications
CMS Integration Team:
The Integration Team provide software build, test rig management, system integration and software release services for a number of projects supplying naval combat system equipments (CSEs). The team works to established and robust processes to maximise repeatability and to minimise surprises. Team members make much use of representative target hardware to detect and investigate potential issues.
The purpose of this role is to integrate a Windows-based Naval Combat Management System on a virtualised shared infrastructure. The role will involve working on local integration facilities with opportunities to work at land-based UK test sites and potentially on-board Royal Navy ships to carry out system investigations and work closely with subject matter experts.
