Role summary/purpose of job
Reporting to the Senior Financial Control Manager, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI
/ Business Intelligence Analyst to design, develop, and maintain robust BI solutions. The individual will be
instrumental in transforming complex data into actionable insights, primarily utilizing Microsoft Power BI, to
support strategic initiatives and operational improvements across various departments.
Key responsibilities and deliverables
Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, define, and
document reporting and analytical requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data
visualizations that communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends effectively.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from various data
sources (e.g., SQL databases, Excel, SharePoint, APIs) to ensure data quality and integrity.
Develop and optimize complex DAX formulas and M-query scripts for data modelling and
calculation within Power BI Desktop.
Administer and manage Power BI Service workspaces, datasets, security roles, and refresh
schedules.
Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for
business improvement.
Document technical specifications, data dictionaries, and reporting processes.
Proactively identify and recommend improvements to existing BI solutions, data sources,
and analytical methodologies.
Key requirements (Communication/skills/experience)
Essential
• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a
related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role with a strong
focus on Power BI.
• Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Power BI Desktop, including advanced DAX, Power Query
(M-language), and data modelling techniques.
• Strong SQL skills for data querying, manipulation, and understanding relational databases.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and
impactful visualizations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with
technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
• Strong knowledge of the legal sector or professional services.
• A basic understanding of a Legal and Finance Systems, ideally the IntApp suite and Elite 3e
• Written and spoken European language skills
