About the role
We are seeking an experienced LatAm Payments Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee and support all aspects of payment operations in Latin America (currently Brazil and Mexico), with a strong focus on transaction monitoring, operational efficiency, and enhancing payment performance.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for local third-party payment providers and work cross-functionally with internal teams to drive performance, resolve issues, and ensure compliance.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee and improve end-to-end payment processes, including deposits, withdrawals, refunds, reconciliations, and customer queries
- Manage and collaborate with local payment providers and banks to ensure optimal service and resolution of complex transaction issues
- Monitor transactions in real time to detect, investigate, and respond to suspicious or fraudulent activity - including direct engagement and interaction with customer queries/tickets
- Continuously evaluate payment workflows to identify and execute process optimizations that improve speed, reduce cost, and minimize errors
- Analyze customer payment behavior and trends to recommend new payment methods or improvements to existing ones
- Lead operational enhancements through new workflows, SOPs, and process automation to support scalable growth
- Oversee the integration of new payment technologies and solutions, ensuring seamless deployment with minimal user impact
- Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, updating policies and procedures as needed
- Be available for emergency response during system downtimes or critical failures to ensure rapid resolution and continuity
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in payment or financial operations within fintech, e-commerce, or related sectors
- Fluent in English. Proficiency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is a strong advantage
- In-depth understanding of payment systems and funds flows
- Experience working with payment gateways and PSPs; transaction monitoring experience is a plus
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across internal teams and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment
