To be successful as a Senior Java Developer, you should have experience with:

• Java with deep understanding of OOP, collections framework, exception handling, multithreading, and Java features

• Spring Boot and dependency injection for building enterprise applications; and Maven for dependency management and Git for collaborative development workflows

• Distributed caching technologies such as Redis, Hazelcast, or Coherence to build scalable, low‑latency systems

• SQL skills, stored procedures, transaction management, and ability to optimize queries and design schemas

• JUnit, Mockito, integration testing, and debugging tools to ensure code quality and reliability

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Experience with Kafka, MQ, message brokers, event-driven patterns, and asynchronous communication for building resilient distributed systems

• Experience with Teamcity or Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment pipelines

• Skills in RESTful API design, GraphQL, and API versioning strategies

• Containerisation knowledge/Docker and comfortable with Unix command line

• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and familiarity with financial services

Minimum Salary: $ 120,000

Maximum Salary: $ 175,000

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
