Role Purpose:

We’re seeking a talented and creative Communications Specialist to join our Data Democratisation team. Reporting under Data Culture within the Data Democratisation Organisation, this role will be instrumental in developing and implementing communication strategies to raise awareness and understanding of data democratisation initiatives. The Communications Specialist will play a key role in improving our Data Culture by crafting compelling messaging, coordinating internal and external communication efforts, and promoting a data-driven approach across the organisation.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities 



  • Develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness and understanding of data democratisation initiatives while collaborating with the Executive Director of Data Democratisation and other stakeholders to align communication efforts with organisational goals.

  • Craft compelling messaging that effectively communicates the value and benefits of data democratisation to internal and external audiences.

  • Develop content for internal communications, including newsletters, blogs, videos, and presentations.

  • Contribute to Content Development for Data University.

  • Coordinate communication efforts with stakeholders, including Executive Committee members and shareholders, to ensure alignment and support for data democratisation initiatives

  • Promote a data-driven culture within the organisation through targeted communication campaigns and initiatives.

  • Develop and execute strategies to engage employees and foster enthusiasm for data-driven decision-making.

  • Manage and curate content for internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet sites, and digital platforms. Ensuring that content is timely, relevant, and aligned with organisational priorities.

  • Ensure consistency and alignment with brand messaging and guidelines in all communication materials while upholding the reputation and integrity of Data Democratisation through clear and effective communication.

  • Track and measure the effectiveness of communication efforts using relevant metrics and analytics.





Essential skills, knowledge, or experience 

(Inc. professional or technical qualifications) 



  • Proven experience in communications or marketing roles, preferably in a data-related or technology-driven environment.

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messaging.

  • Experience developing and implementing communication strategies across multiple channels.

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of data management principles and practices is a plus.
