The Application Architect IV is a SME-level position that has extensive knowledge and experience in designing and building software applications, especially for migrating or transitioning them from one platform or environment to another. They provide guidance and best practices on how to plan, execute, and optimize application transitions, ensuring that applications meet functional and technical requirements and standards. They supervise and direct senior-level, journeyman-level, and junior-level professionals

 

  • Responsibilities are to analyze the current state and future state of applications; identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement; define and document application transition strategy, architecture, design, roadmap, and plan, aligning with business objectives and stakeholder expectations; collaborate with Development, Testing, Operations, Security, and Business Teams to coordinate and facilitate application transition activities and resources

  • Use various tools and techniques to design and implement application transitions in a scalable, reliable, and secure manner; monitor and evaluate performance and quality of application transitions; provide regular feedback and reports on progress and status of transitions

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues or problems during or after application transitions

  • Conduct post-transition reviews and lessons learned sessions to document best practices and lessons learned for future reference

  • The Application Architect IV supervises and mentors subordinate project and Team ManTech staff

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience

  • Bachelors Degree in related discipline (candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit)

  • High School Diploma + 16 years of experience will also be considered

  • 7+ years of position-specific relevant experience

  • DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level II Certification

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI-eligibility


Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related discipline

  • 5 years in an Agile development environment

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
