They do this using agile methodologies, with continuous testing, architecting, integration, delivery, and validated learning.

About the role:

If you have a strong background in both software development and security, with a deep understanding of DevSecOps and DevOps principles and practices, then this role could be the one for you. Working in this niche role with the software development teams in helping them to setup, secure and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS, you will use infrastructure code solutions such as Terraform or CDK. The role will also require you to advise on security and monitoring services.

Responsibilities:

  • As a DevSecOps Engineer you will ensure teams are using the latest methods for developing secure applications and APIs.
  • Advise and help with building, configuring and securing infrastructure and pipelines.
  • You will also be responsible for helping teams integrate and automate SAST (Static Application Security Testing), DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing) and Accessibility testing tools.
  • Research and manage new tools to help developer teams improve efficiency and monitor project availability
  • The role involves helping maintain our Cyber Essentials certification and working with other teams (including security teams) to achieve this.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • A strong background in AWS and using Terraform to manage AWS infrastructure
  • You have the willingness and passion for learning new technology as required and the ability to act and work both independently and as an enthusiastic team member.
  • The ability to explore technology solutions across the technology stack is a must along with being able to investigate issues and provide solutions for those issues.
  • It would be advantageous to be experienced in security or penetration testing.
  • Other cloud experience is also useful
