Lead DevOps Engineer

The DevOps lead is responsible for the execution of the DevOps and Tooling strategy driving the implementation of DevOps solution whilst collaborating with our client’s business departments to migrate and scale adoption of new systems and process improvements of the current software development processes.

The DevOps lead keeps up with new technologies and promotes the best organizational patterns and practices. Leading our client through high-level challenges and balances quality software with speed of delivery.

Skills and Experience

Technical Skills:

•         Strong knowledge and experience with CI/CD tools, particularly TeamCity, Octopus Deploy and Jenkins.

•         Experience with SonarQube or similar SAST

•         Sonatype Lifecycle, Nexus, and firewall management

•         Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure management

•         Expertise in designing On-Premises infrastructure

•         Proficiency in using GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions

•         Familiarity with Jira for sprint planning and project management.

•         Experience with Confluence for documentation and team collaboration.

•         Experience with On-Premises architecture working with LDAP integrations

Leadership and Management:

•         Demonstrated experience leading and managing technical teams.

•         Lead by design, able to demonstrate POC’s and support the technical team

DevSecOps Strategy:

•         Experience developing and transitioning to a DevSecOps model.

•         Knowledge and use of DORA (DevOps Research and Assessment) metrics to improve performance.

•         Familiarity with OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project) standards for ensuring software security.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

•         Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders. Presenting to Senior and Exec level stakeholders on status reports and target roadmap

•         Experience in managing client communications and gathering feedback.

Nice-to-Haves:

Industry Experience:

·         Experience in the financial services industry is preferred but not mandatory.

Technical Knowledge:

·         Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code (IaC).

·         Experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation and management.

·         Experience with other DevSecOps practices and tools.

·         Knowledge of NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) guidelines for security and compliance.
