We’re seeking a skilled and collaborative Analytics Engineer with strong proficiency in Python and SQL.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building efficient, automated data pipelines that power high-performance, user-friendly, and intuitive data solutions.

You’ll be instrumental in designing and maintaining data ingestion and transformation processes; while also shaping data structures to ensure they are accessible and valuable to analysts, dashboards, and stakeholders.

This opportunity goes beyond traditional ETL work - it’s a chance to take ownership of the usability and impact of the data products you create.

You’ll work closely with analytics and BI teams to deliver insights-ready solutions and contribute to our growing data maturity by supporting machine learning initiatives that unlock predictive insights and drive meaningful outcomes.

Design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines using Python and SQL across platforms like Databricks, Google BigQuery, and Airflow.

Manage secure and efficient data ingestion from third-party APIs, ensuring reliability and scalability.

Develop and optimise both normalised and denormalised data models for performance, usability, and accessibility.

Collaborate with analysts and BI developers to deliver well-structured, insight-ready data that meets evolving business needs.

Monitor data quality, resolve incidents, and contribute to robust governance through documentation, testing, and continuous improvement.

Engage with stakeholders to refine requirements, align data solutions with business priorities, and foster a collaborative, learning-focused culture.

Proficient in Python for data engineering workflows and advanced SQL for complex data manipulation.

Hands-on experience with Airflow, Databricks, and Google BigQuery in managing scalable data pipelines.

Skilled in ingesting data via APIs and transforming large datasets efficiently and securely.

Strong understanding of data modelling (normalised and denormalised structures) and performance optimisation.

Effective communicator, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable in fast-paced, stakeholder-driven environments, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

We’re always looking to recognise and reward our employees for the work they do. As a valued member of The AA team, you’ll have access to a range of benefits including:
