About our Team : Our team is responsible for implementing, migrating, and supporting a variety of enterprise wide SDLC tools company wide. The position is highly visible across all internal business unit. We work closely with various business verticals at any given time, supporting teams such as Product, Development, QA, Operations and Project management while supporting a wide range of technologies and tools.
About the Role : As a Power BI Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Power BI environment common to the various business verticals. Primary focus will be on ensuring the availability, security, and performance of our Power BI platform. Work with stakeholders across various departments to understand their reporting needs and provide technical support as required. Play a key role in optimizing data models and implementing best practices for data visualization.
Responsibilites :
Data Governance Knowledge:
Understanding of data governance principles, policies, and practices is crucial for ensuring that data within Power BI is managed appropriately in terms of quality, security, and compliance.
Power BI Proficiency:
A strong understanding of Power BI's functionalities, including data modeling, report creation, dashboard development, and data visualization techniques, is essential. This includes familiarity with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating calculated columns and measures.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
Proficiency in data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets is important. This involves being able to derive meaningful insights from data visualizations and reports.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation is often required, as well as understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with stakeholders across different departments within the organization. The ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical language is important for effective collaboration.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Being able to identify issues related to data governance, security, or compliance within Power BI implementations and develop solutions to address them is essential.
Attention to Detail:
Given the importance of data accuracy and compliance, a keen eye for detail is necessary to ensure that Power BI reports and dashboards are accurate and meet regulatory requirements.
Continuous Learning:
The field of data analytics and business intelligence is constantly evolving, so a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, techniques, and best practices is essential for staying up-to-date in the role.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Working collaboratively with other members of the IT department, data analysts, business users, and other stakeholders is important for successful Power BI governance initiatives.

Requirements :
10+ years of Software Engineering experience
BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
Capacity Administration:
Monitoring and Tuning: Admins oversee the environment, monitor performance, and fine-tune resources.
Resource Utilization: They ensure efficient use of premium capacity by published reports.
Throttling Prevention: Admins prevent resource throttling by managing capacity effectively.
Tools & Insights:
Fabric Capacity Metrics App: Admins use this tool to monitor resource usage and identify bottlenecks.
Big-Picture View: Unlike developers, admins see the overall resource utilization in shared environments.
Setting Limits and Performance Optimization:
Max Offline Dataset Size: Admins can set limits to prevent issues.
Performance Guidance: They provide best practices to report publishers.
