Programme Manager
The Admiral IT Department is seeking a driven Programme Manager with proven experience in delivering programmes involving Generative AI and advanced technical solutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of emerging AI technologies, their practical applications, and the ability to drive innovation and adoption within the organisation. Key Responsibilities
- Work with project delivery teams, agile squads, and business stakeholders to ensure a quality and timely set of deliverables.
- Proactive ownership of all programme deliverables, maintaining a focus on quality at all times.
- Lead the delivery of programmes involving Generative AI, ensuring alignment with business objectives and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with technical teams to assess, select, and implement Generative AI solutions, ensuring scalability and robustness.
- Champion the adoption of AI technologies across the organisation, promoting best practices and continuous learning.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in Generative AI and related fields, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements in all AI-related initiatives.
- Business case development – supporting the business owner in providing the relevant input to support technology investment.
- Management of stakeholder relationships and communication.
- RAID Management in line with PMO standards.
- Take ownership for building and maintaining the programme delivery plan for execution.
- Managing the interdependencies across the programme alongside external dependencies.
- Clear and concise programme and project reporting.
- Reporting to Steering Committees, Programme and Portfolio checkpoints.
- Mentoring, guiding and sharing best practice with Project Managers, Delivery Leads and Squad leads working on this programme.
- Help others to check and improve quality of work.
- Support the activities of other members of the team.
Knowledge and Experience
- Extensive experience working as a Programme Manager on large scale Programmes.
- Extensive experience managing programmes involving Generative AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
- Strong technical background, with the ability to understand and communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrable enthusiasm for emerging technologies, particularly Generative AI, and a track record of driving successful technology adoption.
- Experience in integrating AI solutions within existing business processes and systems.
- Understanding of the ethical, legal, and operational considerations of deploying Generative AI in a business context.
- Proven leadership skills to drive change and deliver business outcomes.
- Excellent Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Managing complex portfolios and programmes end to end.
- Extensive experience of planning, budgeting, financial management and governance.
- Strong understanding of current and horizon technology.
- Business and I.T. transformation and change experience.
- Experience in both agile and waterfall environments.
- Experience in data migration and cloud technologies (preferred).
- Technical knowledge is an advantage.
Desirable
- Understanding of Insurance and Financial Services.
- Understanding of the regulatory landscape (FCA, PRA etc.).
Preferred Professional Training/Certification
- Programme Management qualification (e.g. MSP).
- Project management qualifications (e.g., Prince2, APM or AgilePM).
- Relevant AI or machine learning certifications (e.g., Microsoft AI, AWS Machine Learning, Google Cloud AI, or equivalent).
- Evidence of continuous professional development in AI, data science, or related fields.
