How will you make an impact in this role?
The Senior Manager, Market & Liquidity Risk Governance will be reporting to Director – Market & Liquidity Risk, within the Financial Risk Management Group. Specific responsibilities for the team include:
- Lead aggregation and facilitate submission of risk management committee materials. Edit the materials to support high-quality committee discussions
- Draft and maintain risk policies and standards in line with company policies and regulatory expectations while leveraging industry knowledge and best practices from prior experience; Design and refine the new policy/standard adherence program
- Engage with stakeholders across lines of defense to ensure program consistency with enterprise-wide guidelines and lead coordinated responses to stakeholder inquiries related to risk governance
- Identify and drive solutions for program inconsistency in governance across risk pillars, becoming a valuable contact for collaboration
- Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives across liquidity and market risk teams, such as risk reporting and data capabilities
- Assess and provide effective challenge to key new products, acquisitions and strategic initiatives to ensure risk-embedded decisions based on internal/industry best practices and changing regulatory landscape.
- Collaborate with the Director and their team to lead portions of the uplift in the market and liquidity risk management program, as the Company grows from a Category III bank to a Category II bank.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years relevant experience in treasury, finance, governance, regulatory interactions, or risk management.
- Risk Knowledge: Extensive working knowledge of market risk, enterprise risk, and risk & control frameworks, controls and issues management, policy governance.
- Regulatory Interface: Strong knowledge of regulators such as the OCC and FRB, as well as experience in risk consulting and auditing.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal abilities, with a talent for simplifying complex concepts for senior leaders and influencing stakeholders across all levels.
- Proactive Approach: Skilled at identifying emerging issues, driving key risk initiatives, and escalating critical matters effectively.
- Proven ability to think critically and work independently.
- Strong risk-reward control mindset.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of financial concepts/ financial markets and prior experience in treasury/finance function a plus.
- Proficiency in the design and implementation of risk frameworks at large financial institutions.
- CFA/FRM a plus.
- Graduate degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
