Data Insights Analyst
As a Data Insights Analyst within our Data Democratisation programme, you are a proficient, hands-on professional who applies your analytical skills to investigate well-defined business problems. This role is for a curious and collaborative individual who is passionate about finding the "why" in the data.
Working as part of an Agile squad, you will take on user stories that require deep, exploratory analysis. You will use a versatile toolkit including Tableau, BigQuery, Python, and R to delve into our rich data landscape, delivering clear, data-backed answers that help your stakeholders make better, more informed decisions and drive company growth and customer success.
· Hands-on Data Analysis: Independently deliver on user stories from the Jira backlog. You will use the most appropriate tool for the task, whether it's SQL in BigQuery for data extraction, visual analytics in Tableau for exploration, or a script in Python/R for deeper statistical work.
· Agile Participation: Fully participate in all squad Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives). You are accountable for delivering your analysis and findings within sprint commitments and clearly communicating your progress.
· Insight Generation & Storytelling: Your primary output is a clear, data-backed answer to a business question. You are responsible for documenting your methodology and presenting your findings in a simple, compelling way that your audience can understand and act upon.
· Tool Proficiency: Develop and maintain your skills across our core analytical toolkit, ensuring you can efficiently tackle a range of analytical challenges.
· Continuous Improvement: Begin to explore how AI-powered tools within our ecosystem (like BigQuery AI) can accelerate your analytical workflow for defined tasks.
Your success will be measured by your contribution to our core strategic objectives:
· Design and Develop Engaging Data Products: Your analysis directly contributes to the insights that are built into our self-service data products, helping us progress towards our goal of "48 new Strategic Data Democratisation Products."
· Increase Data Literacy, Awareness, Adoption, & Engagement: By delivering clear, well-documented, and accurate analysis, you help build trust in data and contribute to our overall "Data Democratisation Maturity" score.
· Forge Strategic Partnerships & Drive Customer Value: Your work provides the evidence that helps your squad and its stakeholders make data-informed decisions that benefit our customers.
· Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in writing SQL queries to explore and manipulate datasets (experience with BigQuery is highly advantageous).
o Good working knowledge of Tableau for data exploration, visualisation, and rapid analysis.
o Proficiency in at least one analytical programming language (Python or R) and its associated data analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, dplyr).
· Analytical Mindset: A naturally curious and investigative mindset. You have a strong ability to structure a problem, form a hypothesis, and use data to test it rigorously.
· Agile Experience: Experience working within an Agile framework and using project management tools like Jira to manage your work and track progress.
