Business System DevOps Engineer

As a Business System DevOps Engineer, you will support our growing infrastructure landscape, participating in the implementation of cloud technologies and automation processes.

Business System Solutions (BSS) plays a central role in implementing effective systems and solutions that drive business progress. Through the use of both internally developed and external technologies, BSS maintains operations that are efficient, scalable, and sustainable.

You will contribute to enhancing our infrastructure and addressing operational needs, with a focus on maintaining system stability and reliability. You will explore and adopt AI-driven tools and methodologies to optimize DevOps processes.

We are seeking someone with relevant experience working with various internal and external technologies, systems, and solutions. Your capability to collaborate effectively with business users, internal colleagues, and external partners will be paramount as you identify and implement suitable solutions.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
• Experience with AI/DevOps Integration.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
• Familiarity with logging and monitoring technologies to support operational excellence.
• Ability to script in at least one programming language, such as Python, or Bash.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies, such as Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and implementing secure infrastructure.
• Certification in cloud technologies, such as Google Cloud Platform would be advantageous.

• Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins across multiple projects, ensuring automated workflows from code commit through deployment stages.
• Developing and maintaining monitoring solutions to visualise application metrics and logs, delivering insights into system performance and health.
• Aiding in establishing and maintaining comprehensive logging mechanisms to enable proactive identification and resolution of system issues.
• Collaborating with development teams to enhance automation capabilities and optimise operational processes.
• Supporting in the management of Kubernetes clusters and deploying applications using Helm charts for streamlined package management and orchestration.
• Executing code deployments, fixes, and updates while ensuring adherence to security best practices and scalability standards.
• Staying current with emerging trends in DevOps practices and technologies, particularly in container orchestration, deployment strategies, and automation tools.
• Aiding in driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, performance, and deployment efficiency.
• Supporting junior team members where required.
