We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect with a strong focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM). You will be responsible for designing, assessing, and assuring IAM architectures and implementations to ensure they meet organisational standards, security requirements, and best practices.
The role requires close collaboration with delivery teams, stakeholders, and external partners to provide expert guidance, assess risks, and maintain compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.
This is a fully onsite role in Basingstoke, requiring DV clearance and sole UK nationality.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in IAM, providing assurance on the design, implementation, and operation of IAM solutions.
Review and validate IAM architectures, ensuring alignment with organisational policies, security standards, and business objectives.
Conduct technical assessments of IAM systems, including authentication, authorisation, and identity lifecycle management processes.
Evaluate IAM solutions and vendor proposals to ensure they meet functional, security, and compliance requirements.
Identify risks and vulnerabilities in IAM designs and implementations, recommending mitigations to ensure robust and secure solutions.
Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure IAM solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST, in all IAM-related activities.
Develop and maintain assurance frameworks, checklists, and documentation to support consistent evaluation of IAM solutions.
Stay informed about emerging IAM trends, technologies, and threats, providing recommendations to improve organisational IAM strategies.
Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect with a strong focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM).
Deep understanding of IAM components: authentication, authorisation, access control, identity lifecycle, and privileged access management.
Experience evaluating and implementing IAM solutions and vendor technologies.
Strong knowledge of regulatory and security standards, including GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST.
Ability to assess risks, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigations in complex IAM environments.
Experience collaborating with enterprise delivery teams and aligning solutions to enterprise architecture principles.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
DV clearance (Developed Vetting) or eligibility to obtain.
Sole UK national / British citizen.
Must be onsite 5 days per week in Basingstoke.
Previous experience working on government, defence, or critical infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with cloud-based IAM solutions (Azure AD, Okta, Ping Identity, etc.)
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate) to ensure alignment across the organisation.
Exposure to emerging IAM trends and zero-trust frameworks.
