Job purpose 
Reporting into the Senior Technical Programme Manager in Enterprise Data Delivery, the TPMis a valued partner to Senior Technical Programme Managers (STPM), Product Managers and squads, supporting them to drive on-time delivery and meet OKR targets.

The TPM is responsible for defining and executing the plans end to end implementation across
lifecycle phases, working in close collaboration with Product Managers, Data Technology, and
the broader Enterprise Data Domain teams within Digital & Technology to achieve Data and
Business strategy.

In addition, there will be a requirement to run stand alone, ad-hoc project work as required,
supporting the needs of Data Delivery and Enterprise Data Science.

The mission is to harness delivery expertise to orchestrate on-time delivery of Products into
our Business (e.g. Foods, Retail, Clothing & Home, International).

The key to the success of this role is building positive, trusting relationships with Product
Managers, squad members and technical leads. Employing appropriate levels of Delivery rigor
and striking the right balance between control and agility.

As a line report into the Senior Technical Programme Manager, the TPM must ensure that they
are always kept informed of the latest developments of the project to enabling them to react to
questions from Data, Product, Delivery and Data Science Leadership, Digital & Tech Senior
Leadership and Finance teams when required.

Key accountabilities, responsibilities, and measures
 Define, document and agree the scope of the project and rules of engagement/ways of working in collaboration with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and broader teams within Enterprise Data.
 Define, document, own, and track the end-to-end plan and high-level Delivery Roadmap to achieve FY/Quarterly OKR goals and run PIRs/Retro’s upon successful deployment into production.
 Define, document, agree and maintain detailed project plans, aligning to high level roadmaps and supporting the implementation of your project.
 Align plan activities to the Delivery lifecycle phases and surface when phase gate movements are required (ensuring all artefacts / key outcomes are achieved, reviewed, and signed off)
 Work collaboratively with the broader Enterprise Data Team TPMs to identify and manage dependencies to successfulconclusion.
 Remain flexible in Delivery approach; we work in a broadly agile environment, whilst being pragmatic to the needs of the programme.
 Own and maintain a resource capacity plan, surfacing contentions with appropriate escalations and clear articulation of impacts.
 Anticipating, drafting, and preparing the STPM with required updates into regular communications packs (inc. progress, risk & dependencies updates) at all levels.

 React to ad-hoc requests for project updates as required (inc. Deep Dives)
 Attend regular Delivery meetings; inc. Weekly 121’s, Weekly Delivery Sync, and ad hoc meetings.
 Align deliverables to the Delivery strategy the STPM lays out, reacting to changes over time.
 Communicate continuous improvements ideas implemented to ways of working with the STPM and other TPMs within Enterprise Data Delivery to share awareness.
 Anticipate, draft, and prepare progress updates for weekly review meetings on behalf of your project, taking ownership for drafting packs and taking key actions and updating into the next weekly review pack (on rotation, with the other TPMs in the team)
 Track and report financial benefits progress on a weekly basis and keep the STPM informed of progress of benefits against FY and Quarterly OKR targets; escalating challenges where they exist in good time to address.
 Proactively surface, own, document, maintain and drive the RAID log.
 Escalate programme level risks / blockers to STPM in good time to manage; ensuring these are articulated clearly to Leadership teams together with the agreed mitigations.
 Escalate squad conflicts and how the TPM is actively managing, or if escalation is required.

Key skills ESSENTIAL
 5 years+ of demonstrated successful Project Management experience.
 Previous experience of delivering projects with technical dependencies and working with technical leads (a mix of technical deliverables and Product deliverables would be ideal)
 Proven experience of creating / agreeing good quality, well-crafted E2E plans and management of Delivery roadmaps across the lifecycle.
 Proven experience of crafting concise, eloquent progress updates into regular stakeholder communications at multiple levels; from squad to Senior Leadership
 Working experience of working within an Agile environment; familiar with associated methodologies (e.g. Scrum/ceremonies) and hybrid models (Agile-Waterfall)
 Proven experience of executing and deploying risk and dependencies strategies; demonstrating control across the project lifecycle
 Proven experience of working within; and being comfortable driving transformation in a fluid environment
 Proven experience of seeking out and leading/implementing improvements to ways of working without prompting
 Proven experience of increasing velocity throughout the lifecycle; creating high performing teams
 Experience of managing projects with cross-functional teams
 Analytical and logical approach to problem solving; demonstrating thought leadership to drive the right outcomes.
 Ability to organise and prioritise collaboratively across multiple disciplines; being comfortable with challenging the status quo to achieve financial targets and successful delivery.
 Proven experience of re-focusing teams to achieve Product OKR financial benefit targets.
 Comfortable with managing resource conflicts; addressing and re-focusing the squad.
 Proven experience of resource management, identifying conflicts and either managing as appropriate or escalating as required 
 Proven experience to not be purist about the delivery approach; deploying the right level of rigor based on required outcomes.

DESIRABLE
 Prior experience working in a data-led and or/Data Science environment (advantageous; but not essential)
 Be familiar with engineering principles (Data Engineering/Architecture)
 Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
 Financial and commercial acumen
