About the job
Admiral Travel is transforming how travel insurance works, using data, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies like Generative and Agentic AI. As we scale our business, we’re building smarter ways to select risk and improve operations – all driven by innovation.
We’re hiring a senior leader to shape and deliver our GenAI strategy. This is a high-impact role at the crossroads of technology and business transformation. You’ll define the roadmap, lead delivery of AI use cases, and embed responsible AI across the organisation. From agentic automation to expert chatbots and code-assist tools, you’ll help develop solutions that change how we work.
You’ll work closely with Admiral’s Central GenAI team, travel insurance functions, and external partners to ensure GenAI is adopted strategically, ethically, and sustainably. If you’re ready to lead the next wave of AI in insurance, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll identify high-value opportunities across operations, pricing, customer experience, and support – especially where others might not. You’ll run workshops, engage stakeholders, and prioritise use cases using a structured approach. Rapid prototyping will be key, as you build and test GenAI agents using prompt engineering, UI platforms, and Python. You’ll monitor performance, cost, and impact, and work with cross-functional teams to take validated solutions into production.
You’ll also help establish governance frameworks to ensure AI is adopted responsibly, with clear controls and observability in place.
What We’re Looking For
- Programming experience (e.g. Python, JavaScript) to support rapid prototyping and experimentation
- Good understanding of prompt engineering and how to optimise GenAI tools for performance and cost
- Experience building GenAI agents using frameworks like LangChain, Copilot Agent Studio, or similar
- Familiarity with cloud-based AI platforms such as Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI, or AWS Bedrock
- Proven experience leading or contributing to AI or data-driven projects in a commercial setting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for innovation and emerging technologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with a high level of ownership and adaptability
- Awareness of ethical AI principles, governance, and data privacy standards, with a commitment to applying them responsibly
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus but not essential)
