Job Summary

Responsible for working with engineering teams throughout the company to design and architect secure, cost-effective and high performing cloud solutions. Partner with teams across the company to innovate and deliver software-defined cloud services and platforms. Work with the best and brightest minds in the company as well as with vendors to architect a private cloud offering that is scalable, reliable, easy to use, and competitive in the marketplace. Acts as a technical expert in own area within the organization. May work independently or as part of a team on more complex projects. Provides mentoring and guidance to more junior team members. May be responsible for leading a team, but does not directly manage people.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities
Facilitate in-depth architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class cloud solutions.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements.
Conduct surveys, brainstorming sessions and analysis to understand business need/fit.
Design updated cloud plans in support of one or more business processes.
Drive feature comparison efforts to make a build vs. buy decision.
Coordinate data center and network engineering to create infrastructure deployment plans.
Promote the use of industry and Company technology standards.
Mentor, review code and verify that design best practices and that coding and architectural guidelines are adhered to.
Track to budgets.
Create cloud governance policies.
Work with engineering groups to guide migration of workloads.
Architect cloud resource usage quota assignments and chargeback mechanisms.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
