About American Express Enterprise Cloud Platform (eCP): American Express Enterprise Cloud platform (eCP) provides a platform that enables business applications to have Faster Time-to-Market for American Express.

eCP offers dynamic rapid code-to-development models and services such as Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Code, Policy-as-a-Code, DB-as-a-Service, Analytics-as-a-Service, Messaging-as-a-Service, one dev pipelines, etc. for application developers in a hybrid cloud environment. eCP enables Application developers to write modern scalable cloud native applications.

The goal of the team is to continue to build upon robust cloud services in support of hosting applications both in the private cloud environment as well as in multiple public clouds.

Responsibilities:


• Drive the design of Public Cloud (GCP) adhering to Enterprise Cloud strategy.
• Drive design and delivery of cloud services by integrating with enterprise toolset 
• Performs hands-on architecture, design and development of systems specifically as it pertains to Google public cloud offering, with Hashi Terraform and Sentinel.
• Perform hands-on evaluations before we scale up the adoption of cloud platforms/tools to high-risk apps
• Define and translate vision into actionable plans; ability to see the “big picture”

• Using cutting-edge technologies to implement a hybrid cloud platform as a service.
• Understand the current implementation of the cloud platform and look for improvements to the platform and dependencies.
• Work with Product Owners to understand upcoming features and ensure proper design.

Minimum Qualifications:

Are you up for the challenge?

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in leading GCP Cloud technologies and infrastructure design and implementation for highly available and scalable enterprise grade platforms and applications
• 5+ years of experience in hosting and managing Terraform Enterprise, TFC for multi cloud infrastructure automation
• 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure automation tools, Terraform preferred, with a focus on immutable infrastructure.
• 3+ Years of Experience with Container & Orchestration Technologies such as Docker, or Kubernetes
• Understanding of good cloud architecture to ensure high availability while ensuring the highest level of security and visibility.
• Understanding of Cloud Networking concepts, and Traffic Flow Management
• Experience with public cloud Observability capabilities.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and exploit them to their optimal potential
• Strong communication, listening, and negotiation skills; able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner
