MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Acoustics and Sensors Engineer to join our team in Patuxent River, MD. This is an onsite position.
This position supports the Naval Air Warfare Center Aviation Division (NAWCAD) Systems Engineering Department (SED). This position supports SED in its provision of systems engineering expertise and tactical aviation experience to a variety of programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing support to the Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT); identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex engineering issues focused on acoustics and sensors.
Coordinating engineering support with NAVAIR’s engineering divisions, external field engineering facilities and test sites to ensure that engineering resources are applied to issues in a timely and effective manner.
Providing engineering support of sensor systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability, and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program.
Applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
Reviewing and preparing engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
Applying systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
Analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, or evaluating software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military aircraft weapons systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in a Technical or Scientific discipline from an accredited college or university (a Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years of experience may be substituted for the Master’s degree.)
10+ years of relevant experience in an engineering position, with at least 3 years relating to DoD systems.
Must have experience with acoustics and sensor systems engineering, including technologies such as magnetic anomaly detection, electro-optical/infrared targeting systems, and airborne sonar.
Must have experience with systems integration, testing, and evaluation of mission systems within a DoD or Naval Aviation environment.
Must have experience preparing and reviewing engineering documentation, specifications, and technical risk assessments for acoustics or sensor systems.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Tasking is primarily computer based. The person in this position must be able to operate and perform tasking on a PC as well as operate other typical office equipment (e.g. copying machine, shredder, projection systems, etc.).
Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, Customers, and management through email, phone, and other virtual communication methods (e.g. TEAMS, ZOOM).
The projected compensation range for this position is $147,900.00-$263,200.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
