As a Lead Technical Program Manager in Digital Channels & Connectivity within Commercial and Investment Bank Payments team, you will drive the successful delivery of complex technology projects and programs that will help reaching business goals across the firm. Leveraging your deep knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories is essential for developing innovative solutions, while simultaneously effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams. Your strong analytical reasoning and adaptability skills will enable you to navigate through ambiguity and change, ensuring that technology initiatives align with business goals. With advanced communication and stakeholder management abilities, you will foster productive working relationships and influence decision-making to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. As a subject matter expert, you will contribute to the development of operational plans and risk management strategies, ensuring the highest quality and professionalism in service delivery. Leverage your strategic, analytical, and operational expertise to serve as a trusted advisor, a ‘swiss army knife’ leader, and Chief of Staff to the Head of PMO within CIB-Payments Digital & Design organization, driving organizational effectiveness, executive communications and business transformation.
Job responsibilities
• Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of technology solutions
• Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing contingency plans to maintain project and program momentum
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders, to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall business goals
• Utilize advanced analytical reasoning to assess program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven optimizations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Champion the adoption of agile methodologies and technical solutions, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team
• Lead portfolio and investment management processes, ensuring strategic alignment of initiatives, optimal resource allocation, and transparent reporting to senior leadership.
• Develop and deliver executive-level presentations and communications, distilling complex information into clear, compelling narratives for C-suite and board audiences.
• Drive resource and capacity-demand management across software engineering and cross-functional teams, proactively identifying gaps and enabling dynamic resourcing to support business agility.
• Partner with senior leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management to ensure the structure and talent are in place to achieve strategic goals.
• Serve as a thought partner and problem solver for the Head of PMO, tackling ambiguous challenges, synthesizing data, and driving actionable recommendations.
• Establish and manage operating rhythms, governance forums, and key performance indicators to monitor progress, escalate risks, and ensure accountability across the portfolio.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a large organization
• Advanced expertise in stakeholder management, with the ability to establish productive working relationships and influence decision-making across cross-functional teams and clients
• Advanced experience in utilizing technical fluency, including knowledge of vendor products and managing vendor relations, to enable on-demand access to shared pools of applications and services
• Proven track record of effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities
• Demonstrated experience in portfolio management, investment governance, or business management within a large, matrixed technology or financial services organization.
• Exceptional executive communication and slide-making skills, with a track record of preparing materials for senior leadership and board-level audiences.
• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to synthesize data, generate insights, and drive data-driven decision-making.
• Experience in resource/capacity management for software engineering or cross-functional teams, including workforce planning and demand forecasting.
• Proven ability to lead and influence without direct authority, building consensus and driving outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Strong organizational design and change management experience, with the ability to navigate and drive transformation in a dynamic environment.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• MBA or advanced degree in business, engineering, or related field.
• Prior experience as Chief of Staff, Business Manager, or in a similar strategic operations role.
• Management consulting background (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte, Oliver Wyman, or similar).
• Experience supporting or leading large-scale agile transformation or agility-at-scale initiatives.
• Familiarity with financial planning, budgeting, and investment prioritization processes.
• Expertise in executive storytelling, data visualization, and advanced presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau).
• Experience in the payments, digital, or financial services industry.
