Responsible for detailed design, implementation coordination and technical lead level resourcing for new product integration across Comcast's converged IP Network, at a market or infrastructure level. Accountable for monitoring and influencing relevant standards bodies across Transport and IP layers to incorporate emerging technologies that reduce costs, increase flexibility and drive scale. Design, beta and launch new integrated voice, video and data products across the Converged Network. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment, may lead teams or projects, and shares expertise.
Author High-Level and Low-Level Design Documents to support carrier-grade mobile services.
Own software/hardware selection, perform bug scrubs and security vulnerability assessments, and work with Test and Delivery engineers on test plans, defects, reports, MOP, and change tickets.
Drive platform improvements, enable automation, and implement new solutions supporting DevOps capabilities.
Design carrier-grade network solutions that comply with design standards.
Work with partners to elicit business and technical requirements.
Steer network elements’ feature roadmap with technology partners for release planning, budget submissions, and case preparation.
Apply strong understanding of reliability matrix, availability matrix, design longevity, and commercial aspects.
Experience working for a Service Provider or Telco in mobile, security, or infrastructure environments.
Competence in designing carrier-grade network solutions.
Strong understanding of reliability, availability, design longevity, and commercial considerations.
Document writing skills (HLD, LLD, technical diagrams, presentations).
Excellent communication skills (risks, sign-offs, escalations, project updates).
Solid service provider routing and switching skills.
Strong hands-on with Cisco or Nokia routers.
Deep knowledge and experience with F5 devices (iSeries, rSeries, and virtual).
Strong working experience with protocols: ISIS, MPLS, RSVP, TE, Hierarchical QoS, LACP, BGP.
Certifications: CCNA, CCNP desired; CCIE preferred.
F5 Certified Technical Specialist desired.
Understanding of firewall architecture.
Knowledge of Python and Git for configuration templates and automation.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Equivalent coursework/experience may also be considered.
7–10 years relevant work experience.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards Comcast provides, along with bonus eligibility (non-sales roles) or commission (sales roles).
