The Controls Room Reporting and Data Analytics team is seeking an Associate Product owner with an aptitude for data story-telling and analysis with a strategic, analytical, and energetic personality. We are looking for someone to join our team to support our stakeholders by building innovative reporting solutions on our new cloud-based data lake. This is a high visibility opportunity to support Control Managers across all Business and Functions address their reporting needs. As a Reporting Product Owner Associate within the Reporting & Analytics team, you will work at the intersection of analytics, user experience, and product development by brainstorming and developing reports through detailed analysis of operational risk data. You will work with business subject matter experts and Control Managers, as well as partner with our Technology software engineers to develop solutions to turn complex, technical concepts into reporting outputs that drive insights for both analytical and non-analytical audiences.

Job Responsibilities

Translate data and reporting requirements from internal stakeholders into actionable tasks for the Agile development teams
Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams; ensure that requirements are clear and the vision is aligned with business objectives
Defining user stories with detailed acceptance criteria and prioritizing backlog 
Develop an in-depth understanding of risk and control program strategies and apply this knowledge to improve your product, determine solutions, and resolve issues
Own risk identification, mitigation strategies, impact analysis, resolution, and communications to stakeholders
Oversee SIT/Development and UAT testing; define use cases and approaches for Technology and stakeholder testing in clear and easily understood formats
Partner with the UAT teams to ensure testing scope, scripts, and timelines are established and reported accurately on status reports
Manage or participate in multiple project work-streams concurrently
Participate in Scrum meetings, product sprints, sprint showcases to review new features, and in sprint retrospectives to ensure the team is improving with each sprint
Conduct ad-hoc analysis and research to support special projects or initiatives, with an emphasis on business impact
Take initiative and execute independently; effectively prioritize business problems based on urgency and relevancy
 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in writing business requirements as a Product Owner / Business Analyst 
Knowledge of the Agile processes and principles 
Proficiency in query tools like SQL or analytical ETL tools such as Alteryx
Expertise in writing user stories with acceptance criteria 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Flexible and adaptive; demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced demanding environment 
Experiencing working in both team and independent environments
Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
Advanced skills for MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

Basic knowledge on control and risk management concepts and experience in financial services is preferred
Utilize technologies like data bricks and Tableau.
Experience with tools and scripting languages such as Python is a plus
JIRA experience a plus
