The Associate AI/ML Engineer role is an exciting, dynamic role within the Enterprise Security and Resilience Office (ESRO) Cyber AI team. Our AI engineering team builds innovative solutions to improve UHG’s cybersecurity stance. The data and systems we protect are distributed across the world, are a complex combination of technologies, and are always evolving. Cybersecurity data is collected in structured, unstructured, and semi-structured formats, at varying velocities, and in a complex, dynamic security environment. The ideal candidate has experience creatively navigating development, analytic, and engineering challenges within a large organization.

Primary Responsibilities:
Working with senior team members and internal customers to produce meaningful data science models, ML or AI solutions that impact cybersecurity
Collecting, cleaning, processing, and analyzing data related to enterprise cybersecurity
Developing ML/AI models within an operational CICD pipeline
Working with source data teams to understand security and operational processes through data
Remaining up to date and on the cutting edge of big data, data science, ML and AI technology
Constantly learning and adapting to new techniques, languages, and technologies

Required Qualifications:
1+ years of experience developing and delivering statistical models, ML or AI solutions
Background experience with data engineering with an affinity for developing code from the command line
GenAI experience
Graph ML knowledge
1+ year of Python scripting experience
1+ year of SQL experience
Proven effective and efficient presentation to different level stakeholders with different background
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the cyber security domain
Experience working with Big Data systems
PySpark experience
Petabyte-scale experience with Big Data and data science
SQL, H2O, Unix, SAS and R experience
Foundational knowledge in information technology, including hardware, networking, architecture, protocols, file systems and operating systems
Azure Open AI Studio
Databricks
AWS Neptune
Proven problem-solving skills
Demonstrated self-motivated learning capabilities
Teamwork spirit through disciplined collaborations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
