In this role within the E Source Data Science division, you’ll take charge of the comprehensive project management life cycle of a large and complex business-to-business-to-customer (B2B2C) statewide data platform project. This project includes coordinating across utility, state, and user stakeholders to design, build, release, and support a large cloud-based energy data platform. You’ll work closely with a senior product manager, software engineering team, data engineering team, and various subject matter experts.

What you’ll do

  • Client engagement: Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met with the highest level of satisfaction. Actively engage in strategic discussions to align team delivery with project objectives.
  • Agile leadership: Champion agile methodologies, facilitating standard ceremonies such as daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Drive process enhancements to optimize team performance and product delivery.
  • Team coordination: Maintain a close partnership with the software engineering team to identify and resolve blockers. Coordinate across the development team, subcontractors, and subject matter experts to align requirements development with delivery.
  • Quality assurance: Oversee the user acceptance testing process, ensuring that software releases meet requirements.
  • Reporting and financial management: Manage comprehensive client reporting, including project status updates and financial invoicing.
  • Risk mitigation: Implement effective risk management strategies to anticipate and mitigate potential project risks, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.

 

What will make you a good fit

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software project management, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong understanding of agile frameworks and software development life cycles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills both written and verbal.
  • Conversational level of experience with software architecture and technology stack components.
  • Strong analytical, management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent agile certification is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Jira or a similar agile work management tool.
  • Prefer to have at least five years of experience working in or for the utility sector.

The budgeted salary for this position is $145,000 to $210,000 USD (includes base salary + annual bonus). Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

 

This role will be 100% remote
