At CGI, we help UK Government departments deliver clear, accessible, and user-focused digital services that improve how citizens access vital information and support.
As a Content Designer, you’ll play a leading role in shaping content strategies and digital experiences that simplify complex information and improve service usability across high-profile government programmes.
Working within multidisciplinary agile teams, you’ll combine user insight, accessibility standards, and content design expertise to create impactful digital content aligned to GOV.UK principles. This is an opportunity to influence meaningful public sector transformation initiatives while growing your career in a collaborative environment that values innovation, ownership, and continuous development.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching), which makes you a CGI Partner rather than just an employee.
We are committed to inclusivity and building a genuinely diverse community of digital and technology talent, and we actively encourage careers in our sector, including for members of the Armed Forces. We are also proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant.
You will be part of a collaborative, open community of experts, with strong support for training and career development to help you progress in the direction you choose.
Due to the secure nature of some programmes, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain it. This is a hybrid role.
In this role, you will lead the creation and optimisation of accessible, user-centred content for government digital services, ensuring information is clear, consistent, and aligned with both user needs and business objectives.
You will collaborate with user researchers, service designers, developers, and stakeholders to design content that improves digital experiences and supports policy outcomes while meeting accessibility standards.
You will take ownership of content design across the delivery lifecycle, using evidence, analytics, and user feedback to continuously improve content quality and service performance. As a senior contributor, you will also support colleagues and help embed best practice across teams.
Key responsibilities include:
You should have strong experience in content design within government or regulated digital environments, with a deep understanding of GOV.UK standards and accessibility principles.
You will be confident working across multidisciplinary teams, influencing stakeholders, and translating complex information into clear and usable content.
