Team – Data and Information Services

Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth Office. Full time, 35 hours per week.

Key Actions

  • Support the creation of new analytics and reporting solutions by helping define and document what the business needs. You will be turning ideas into clear user stories, data models and architecture that guide how our data assets are built.
  • Help evaluate changes to our existing data products, checking how updates will impact what already exists and making sure everything still fits together smoothly.
  • Play a key role in gathering requirements through workshops, brainstorming sessions, focus groups and more! You will then turn these into well‑structured, accurate and prioritised documentation that evolves with the needs of the business.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the Vitality Group, contributing to projects from the very beginning through to delivery, and communicating clearly to keep everyone aligned.
  • Assist with building business cases, helping to define what’s in scope and ensuring that each request for data or reporting has a clear purpose and is genuinely achievable.
  • Get hands‑on with testing and validation, helping to check that new data products and reports do exactly what the business needs. You may also contribute to presentations, demos and show‑and‑tell sessions.
  • Support the set‑up and smooth running of automated reports, including scheduled monthly outputs and ad‑hoc insights, helping to ensure issues are spotted and resolved quickly.
  • Collaborate with other Information Analysts to provide first‑line support for data queries, helping to diagnose issues and understand their impact
  • Develop a solid grounding in how Vitality works, its data, business processes and analytics community, so you can support meaningful change and help ensure data developments land effectively. 

What do you need to thrive?

  • Keen interests in business and technology, and particularly regarding data, analysis and software development
  • Foundational knowledge of data profiling and data analysis using SQL technology (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle)
  • Strong Excel knowledge, including macros, pivots, complex formula, graphical summarisation & reporting
  • Visualisation skills, preferably with a foundational understanding of Power BI
  • Investigative, analytical and logical problem solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of general software – in particular Word, PowerPoint & Acrobat
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and software
