Position Overview
This role sits within CGI’s Secure Innovation (Space, Defence & Intelligence) business unit, delivering secure, cloud-native and mission-critical systems for government clients.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll design, build, and support scalable DevSecOps solutions across complex cloud and hybrid environments. You’ll work on secure platforms using modern CI/CD tooling, automation, and container technologies.
The role suits someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems in high-security environments and contributing to engineering excellence at scale.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and support secure DevOps solutions across cloud and hybrid environments
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment
- Work with containerised systems using Docker and Kubernetes
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, and operational maturity
- Troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure issues in dev and production
- Produce technical designs and operational documentation
- Support secure cloud adoption across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
What you’ll need
- 7+ years’ experience in DevOps / Platform Engineering
- Strong experience in AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Bamboo, etc.)
- Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong scripting ability (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling
- Ability to produce technical design and architecture documentation
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Experience mentoring or leading engineers
Nice to have
- Experience in secure / government / defence environments
- Advanced cloud architecture experience
- Broader DevSecOps tooling exposure
Security & working requirements
- Must work onsite 5 days per week
- Must hold current HLC clearance (mandatory)
- Strong preference for candidates with government, defence, or regulated environment experience
