As a Site Reliability Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you play a key role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing applications and infrastructure. You contribute to team culture by sharing expertise in operations, reliability, and scalability, supporting the firmâs business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Guide and assist others in building designs and gaining consensus from peers
- Collaborate with software engineers and teams to implement deployment approaches using automated CI/CD pipelines
- Design, develop, test, and implement solutions for availability, reliability, and scalability in applications
- Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for assigned applications and platforms
- Resolve complex problems by collaborating with technical experts, stakeholders, and team members
- Utilize service level indicators and objectives to proactively resolve issues before customer impact
- Support the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices within your team
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Proficient in site reliability culture, principles, and implementation within applications or platforms
- Hands-on experience in at least one programming language (Python, Java/Spring Boot, .Net)
- Proficient knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, Android)
- Experience in observability, including monitoring, alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform
- Familiarity with container and container orchestration technologies such as ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Working experience on AWS cloud
- Exposure to ETL or Databricks
- Familiarity with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
- Ability to contribute to large, collaborative teams by presenting information logically and proactively recognizing roadblocks
