THE WORK

Army Air Force Program Quality Engineering Team is looking for a highly motivated, creative individual to provide direct support to the Army Air Force Program. The successful candidate will be interacting cross functionally and providing guidance with respect to Army Air Force products, working out of the Stratford, CT facility. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of Program Quality for the aircraft being produced along with direct customer communications. FAR requirements working knowledge will be needed to aid in the build and delivery of aircraft. Responsible for developing and participating in customer and executive level briefings to provide insight and status on program activities. This position requires coordination with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Management on product quality and effective issue resolution. Candidates for this position should possess strong product and process knowledge, excellent technical skills, adept with desktop PC applications and information systems, and effective communication and presentation skills.


The selected individual may be required to work outside the core working hours to support customer needs.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field.


3+ years of experience in product quality, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation, preferably in aerospace or defense.


Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and their application to aircraft build and delivery.


Strong understanding of aircraft products, processes, and quality systems.


Proficiency with desktop PC applications (Microsoft Office suite, data analysis tools) and quality management information systems.


Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience creating and delivering technical briefings to customers, executives, and cross functional teams.


Willingness to work outside core business hours as needed to support customer requirements.


Desired Skills:

A self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision required.


Master’s Degree in Business or Engineering related discipline.


Program Quality Management and Quality Engineering experience.


Experienced in implementing and maintaining AS9100-certified Quality Management Systems.


Extensive knowledge of and experience with FAR regulations and requirements.


Experience working with Sikorsky helicopter products along with previous work experience in a production/manufacturing environment and Flight Hangar.


Working knowledge of DOD contract requirements.


Working knowledge of Aircraft logbooks and manuals.


Experience in root cause analysis, mistake proofing, project management, and technical writing skills.


Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.


Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.


Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
