We’re seeking the role of VP Production Services Infrastructure Support to lead SQL Server administration at L2/L3 levels and provide foundational support (L1) for MongoDB and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will own production reliability, performance, security, and automation across mission-critical workloads, partnering closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams. This role is located in Pune.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Own SQL Server across production/DR/non prod as the SME for complex incidents and performance challenges.
  • Design, implement, and optimize HA/DR (Always On, FCI, Log Shipping, Replication) and validate RPO/RTO readiness.
  • Drive advanced performance tuning (plans, indexing, parameter sniffing, memory/IO/CPU, tempdb) to boost stability and throughput.
  • Standardize and automate backups, index/statistics, partitioning, capacity planning, and drift detection for consistent operations.
  • Fortify security with least privilege, encryption in transit/at rest, auditing, and rapid vulnerability remediation.
  • Mentor L1/L2 DBAs; develop runbooks/SOPs; elevate observability with actionable alerts; lead RCAs and preventative measures.
  • Execute L2 SQL Server operations (admin, maintenance, patching/upgrades, schema/SSIS changes) while maintaining inventories and DR documentation.
  • Provide L1 support for MongoDB/PostgreSQL, build automation with PowerShell/T SQL/Python, integrate monitoring, and adopt config as code/CI CD; partner with app/SRE/InfoSec to align on performance, resilience, and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure resiliency and disaster recovery exercises.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • 8–12+ years in DBA roles with 6+ years deep in SQL Server (L3 performance tuning, HA/DR, complex incident resolution), plus L1 proficiency in MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong scripting/automation (PowerShell, T SQL; Python a plus) with hands on monitoring integration and CI/CD for database changes.
  • Solid OS/infra fundamentals (Windows Server, Linux basics), and storage/network concepts; experience with observability/ITSM (e.g., ServiceNow), SSIS/SSRS, partitioning, and large scale data.
  • Core technical depth: SQL Server internals, T SQL, Always On/FCI/Replication/Log Shipping, backups/restores, security/roles, tempdb optimization, partitioning; MongoDB/PostgreSQL basics (roles, backups, indexing, config, key metrics).
  • Ownership, analytical problem solving, clear communication under pressure, operational rigor and collaboration aligned to BNY principles; Bachelor’s in CS/IT or equivalent, with preferred Microsoft DBA certifications.
  • Experience leading teams or mentoring peers, with a collaborative spirit and flexibility to support 24/7 production environments—including shift and weekend coverage as needed.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders across the regions of US, EMEA, APAC.
