Job Description:

This role is responsible for shaping and driving the product direction within the Light Munitions Integrated Delivery Team, translating strategic intent into clear development priorities. The postholder will oversee a diverse portfolio of development activity, ensuring delivery aligns with business objectives, funding opportunities, and routes to market. A key aspect of the role is building and strengthening specialist capability areas, enabling the wider team to respond effectively to current and future operational and commercial needs.

Core duties:

  • Lead product development strategy and roadmaps within Light Munitions IDT, identifying funding and routes to market
  • Provide leadership for successful delivery of the product development portfolio
  • Develop and define capability areas to support wider team and business requirements

Essential Skills:

  • Technical or engineering background with proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects
  • Degree, or equivalent experience, in an engineering or closely related discipline
  • Considerable understanding of both engineering lifecycles and project delivery lifecycles
  • Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards professional registration

The Programme Engineering team:

This unique role is key to the organisation as you will be the subject matter expert for our customers and the contracts we hold with them, along with identifying future technology developments and driving our product strategy. This role will be a key development step for excellent career progression into Chief Engineering roles and Technical Programme Management roles.
