We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Private Banking Data, AI and Value Stream Delivery

The Opportunity:

This is a senior Technology leadership role; the Head of Private Banking Data & AI and Value Stream (Portfolio) Delivery has two key areas of accountability. 

The role is accountable for overseeing Technology delivery across the Private Banking Value Stream, providing an end-to-end view across Sub-Value Streams. The role spans strategy, funding allocation, delivery prioritisation, governance, and flow optimization; ensuring faster, safer delivery and measurable customer and business outcomes.

The role is also accountable and responsible for shaping and delivering data, analytics and AI-enabled capabilities, while driving convergence to Future State Architecture and scalable global solutions across markets.

What you will do:

Data and AI

• Deliver technology development for new and existing Data and AI solutions required to realise OKRs, in line with Technology resilience standards.
• Enable configuration and controlled customisation to meet local market requirements and regulatory obligations, without compromising global scalability.
• Ensure effective service management for Private Banking data services, incidents, and operational performance—aiming for high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards, including data privacy regulations; partner with cybersecurity and compliance teams to implement best practices, conduct audits, and mitigate risks.
• Drive engineering excellence and resilience practices supporting high availability, high-scale, and performant services.

Delivery

Partner with Business and Transformation stakeholders to define a coherent vision and supporting technology roadmap aligned to Private Banking's Future State Architecture, business Target Operating Models, and Enterprise Technology architecture principles.

• Own and oversee all aspects of change delivered across the S/VS, ensuring adherence to HSBC principles, standards, and frameworks.
• Lead transparent backlog prioritisation and decision-making, engaging Domain Heads, Market CIOs, and other senior stakeholders to align on outcomes and sequencing.
• Define and shape the technology components of capabilities, features, and customer journeys—ensuring data and AI are embedded where they create meaningful value.
• Provide a common delivery framework to support consistent and complementary data and reporting solutions across GPB domains.
• Reduce Run-the-Bank (RTB) costs by minimising solution variation across markets, decommissioning legacy solutions, and aligning delivery to FSA.
• Develop country Technology delivery roadmaps with Business partners, ensuring local demand is clearly articulated and prioritised within global portfolios.

Leadership & Teamwork 

• Lead and develop a globally dispersed Technology organisation, building talent and sustaining a culture of high performance, inclusion, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Maintain strong relationships with Business stakeholders, partnering to deliver world-class solutions across the domain.
• Guide Technology teams in clarifying needs and solution options in partnership with Business, Transformation, and Flow-to-Work teams.
• Act as a visible, credible leader who can engage both technical and non-technical audiences, building alignment and momentum across a matrixed organisation.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

• Over 18+ years of experience in technology from finance or banking industry
• Experience in a global data/AI technology role and multi-divisional environment is a strong advantage.
• Proven ability to unify Business and Technology teams to deliver shared objectives and customer outcomes.
• Strong understanding of platforms, tools, and processes that improve delivery efficiency, resilience, and engineering excellence; experience with high availability and high-scale systems.
•  Demonstrated experience with Lean-Agile ways of working (DevSecOps, sprints, Jira/Kanban workflows) to optimise value delivery and flow.
• Budget and resource allocation, value-based prioritisation, cost optimisation, and business case development.
• Ability to convey complex concepts clearly, facilitate decision-making, and balance conflicting demands through pragmatic prioritisation.
