Infrastructure Engineer - Secure Cloud Services

Position Description
At CGI, you will play a key role in designing and delivering secure, high-performance infrastructure that underpins mission-critical systems across the Space, Defence and Intelligence sector.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will help build resilient cloud and on-premise environments that enable innovation and operational excellence. The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be based on site near Gloucester or in Central London 5 days a week.


Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will design, build and support secure infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring systems meet performance, security and availability requirements.

You will take ownership of infrastructure across compute, storage and networking, supporting both project delivery and operational activities within complex, secure environments.

Working closely with internal teams and partners, you will deliver reliable and scalable solutions, applying innovative approaches to infrastructure engineering while being supported by a collaborative and expert-led culture that encourages continuous improvement.

• Design & Deliver infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premise environments

• Deploy & Configure compute, storage and network components

• Integrate & Support cloud platforms, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

• Monitor & Optimise system performance, availability and reliability

• Troubleshoot & Resolve technical issues across infrastructure services

• Collaborate & Deliver with internal teams and external partners

• Report & Communicate system status, risks and technical updates


Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You should have strong experience in infrastructure engineering within enterprise or secure environments, with the ability to support both build and operational activities. A solid understanding of cloud or virtualised platforms and systems administration is essential.

• You should have proven experience in infrastructure engineering

• Strong systems administration skills within enterprise environments

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals

• Experience with cloud infrastructure or virtualised environments

• Experience with virtualisation technologies

• Proven ability in troubleshooting and incident resolution

• Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

• Experience with container technologies and image management (desirable)

• Knowledge of automation, scripting or secure environments (advantageous)
