JOB DESCRIPTION

Data Strategy – Senior Associate

Plano, TX, United States

Job Description

The Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Data Strategy team serves as a strategic advisory and business management function, partnering with business leaders to translate enterprise priorities into data‑informed strategies, insights, and actionable recommendations. The team operates as an internal consulting capability, supporting high‑impact, cross‑functional initiatives that shape how data enables business outcomes across CAO and its business partners.

As a Data Strategy Senior Associate, you will function as an internal consultant embedded within the Data Strategy organization. You will support senior leaders and business partners on complex, ambiguous initiatives that require strong strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and data‑informed decision‑making. Your work will focus on identifying opportunities, framing options and tradeoffs, and delivering clear recommendations that bridge analytics execution with longer‑term business and data strategy.

Projects may span multiple business functions and focus areas, including data and analytics strategy, operating model evolution, AI enablement, and enterprise capability development. This role sits between analytics teams and senior leadership, acting as a translator, strategist, and recommendation driver.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead well‑defined workstreams on cross‑functional strategic initiatives, operating as an internal consultant to business partners
  • Translate business strategy, stakeholder needs, and analytical insights into clear problem statements, options, and actionable recommendations
  • Partner closely with analytics, data, technology, and business teams to develop a strong fact base and understand key drivers and constraints
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop executive‑ready presentation materials that clearly articulate insights, tradeoffs, and recommended paths forward
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions to clarify objectives, surface pain points, and align on success criteria
  • Influence outcomes without direct authority by building credibility, trust, and strong working relationships
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces, proactively structuring work and refining scope as new information emerges
  • Manage workstream timelines and deliverables, escalating risks and dependencies as appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with Data Strategy leaders, analytics partners, and other project team members to drive initiatives to completion

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in management consulting, internal consulting, business strategy, product management, or analytics‑adjacent roles
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity and structure complex, open‑ended problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability to translate data and analysis into insights and strategic recommendations
  • Data‑literate and analytically credible, with the ability to interpret findings and challenge assumptions without being responsible for hands‑on coding or model development
  • Experience developing executive‑level presentations and storytelling grounded in data

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience working in or with data, analytics, or technology‑enabled organizations
  • Financial services or large enterprise experience preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with hypothesis‑driven problem solving and consulting‑style engagement models

About the Team

The CAO Data Strategy team partners closely with business leaders, analytics teams, and technology organizations to shape how data is used as a strategic asset. The team focuses on driving alignment between business priorities, data capabilities, and execution, while providing internal consulting support for high‑impact initiatives across the CAO
