Lead Infrastructure Engineer

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Enterprise Technology for Infrastructure Platform, you

apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.

Job responsibilities

• You will be responsible for understanding the firm’s database infrastructure environment and technology modernization pathway. You will then work with application teams to help them migrate to the latest database products and versions on our private cloud or onto the public cloud.  Once on these platforms you will use your expertise to help maximize the performance and resiliency of the application workloads. 

• Monitor and optimize database performance, capacity, and scalability.  Identify and deliver automation solutions to help teams run these requirements more efficiently.

• Collaborate with developers to refine database schemas, optimize queries, and improve application performance.

• Ensure 24/7 availability and reliability for mission-critical systems through proactive analysis and enhancements.

• Support release deployments, maintenance windows, and database upgrades after hours and weekends as needed.

• Optimize and be adpatable when faced with challenges and complex situations, coupled with the drive to solve complex problems and continuously optimize processes.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• 5+ years’ experience working on enterprise database technologies, both sql and no sql databases.

• 5+ years’ experience working with services on multi cloud Cloud infrastructure. For example, AWS, Azure, GCP or OCI  or Private Cloud.

• 5+ years’ experience providing automation and optimization solutions across an enterprise technology infrastructure organization.

• 5+ years’ experience working in a tier 1 financial services organization or similar industry.

• Experience in collaborating with application development teams to provide guidence on the best use of database services and infrastructure.

• Experience working on alongside devops engineering 

• Respect for people and opinions and the ability to confidently offer your point of view.
