This position is for a
Principal Data Architectwithin the MIC2 Strategic Products & Initiatives (SP&I) organization. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in data architecture, command & control systems, and scalable data management approaches that enable AI integration and advanced analytics.
This role will help shape and implement forward-looking technical solutions that support MIC2 business objectives while bridging the gap between data architecture strategy and operational implementation.
Develop and implement MIC2 technical data architectures that support a scalable common MIC2 framework.
Collaborate across organizations to deploy AI-ready data ecosystems capable of supporting AI agents across diverse data structures and environments.
Lead stakeholder engagements to secure alignment, resourcing, and organizational support for MIC2 data architecture initiatives.
Partner with MIC2 Market Segments, Business Development, and Advanced Concepts teams to support common data management and analysis strategies.
Define scalable approaches for data integration, governance, interoperability, and architecture modernization.
Support the development of technical roadmaps and architectural strategies aligned with future command & control capabilities.
Provide technical leadership and guidance across data architecture initiatives supporting mission systems and advanced analytics.
The MIC2 organization delivers advanced mission command and control capabilities that integrate data, analytics, and operational systems into cohesive mission solutions.

• Recognized expert in data architecture, data analysis, and educating all levels of an organization on new approaches to data utilization
• Experience leading data architecture stand-up of AI-ready data ecosystems and implementing of AI in aerospace and defense applications
• General knowledge of MIC2 technology portfolio and product lines; including system architectures, functional boundaries, and physical implementations
• Demonstrated ability to build Leadership advocacy for key initiatives and maintain successful partnerships across organizations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to clearly articulate objective and results at multiple levels of the business
• Must have an final Secret or higher security clearance to start in the role with ability obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Strong desire to understand the full MIC2 portfolio in the context of the broader RMS business and the Lockheed Martin Enterprise objectives
• Familiarity working with Corporate E&T, RMS eTech, and 1LMx data systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex priorities

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $170,900 - $301,415. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $196,600 - $340,745. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
