Hello, we're UW.
We’re a bunch of great people working together, solving problems and having fun. Together, we
strive to find solutions to help the people around us get on with the things that really matter in life.

How? It’s simple, we take the headache out of essential home services by providing them all in
one place – energy, broadband, mobile, and even insurance. That’s one provider, one account,
one bill, and lots of savings.
We’re a truly unique FTSE 250 company with a business model that has real social impact at the
heart of it. Being a part of the UW community, you’ll join a working environment like no other -
one where everyone matters - be it our customers, our partners or you, our people.
About the role:
At UW, our UX team is committed to delivering outstanding user experiences, and we’re seeking
a skilled Design System Designer. This is a key role and you'll play a critical part in maintaining
and enhancing our established design systems.
You’ll join a collaborative and passionate UX community on a mission to make managing utilities
effortless for our customers.
In this role, you’ll shape digital experiences across all our platforms by delivering a coherent and
scalable design language. As a key contributor, you’ll own the design system’s development
process, empowering teams to create exceptional products and enable product teams to build
things faster.
What you will do
Drive consistency: Collaborate with product teams to ensure design consistency across
all customer touchpoints, including responsive web and native apps (iOS & Android).
Simplify design: Partner with UX designers to transform user insights and business
requirements into elegant, practical design solutions.
Govern and scale: Work with engineers to establish a scalable governance model for
the design system's evolution.
Maintain and evolve: Oversee and enhance our Figma component library in
collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring assets are optimised for seamless
handoff to developers.
Document and enable: Develop clear, comprehensive documentation for components,
design rules, patterns, style guides, and interactions to support efficient team workflow
●  Partner with engineers: Collaborate closely with design system engineers across web
and app platforms, ensuring designs are implementable and meet technical
requirements.
Align with brand: Work with brand and marketing teams to maintain consistency with
brand guidelines and campaigns.
Elevate interactions: Design exceptional micro-interactions that enhance digital
experiences and support accessibility goals.
Champion inclusivity: Ensure all designs meet AA accessibility standards, embrace
inclusive design principles, and consider assistive technologies during the design
process.
Solve complex challenges: Address intricate design system issues such as component
reusability, cross-platform constraints, and scalability for diverse product needs.
Facilitate collaboration: Promote awareness, collaboration, and adoption of the design
system across product teams, fostering contributions and shared ownership.
