Manager, IT Delivery (Investment Systems Domain)

Seeking a highly engaged and strategic Delivery Manager to lead talented IT teams within the Global ETF and Middle office Modernization Program. This department is a critical part of the Investment Lifecycle, supporting the end-to-end process of ETFs globally. This role is pivotal in managing the growing complexity of our modernization journey. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving ETF NextGen and Middle Office Modernization and supporting the technology ecosystem and innovation within the ETF and middle office modernization. An opportunity to join Vanguard’s GIFS team as a Manager, IT Delivery. This role sits within a strategic Vanguard initiative focused on transforming multi-asset class systems by migrating core capabilities to the AWS cloud and enhancing them.

As a Delivery Manager, you will lead technical delivery for cloud-native, data-driven solutions that power business with highly reliable historic and real-time data services. You will partner closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and engineers to deliver outcomes that directly impact investment decision-making.

This role offers hands-on leadership with modern cloud technologies and helps establish the foundation for future AI/ML capabilities across the investment platform.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Agile Delivery: Serve as a Technical Leader and Delivery Lead (Dual Hat), driving sprint execution, delivery predictability, and continuous improvement while coaching and mentoring team members.
• Own Technical Outcomes and hands own: Oversee the design and delivery of scalable, event-driven architectures supporting corporate action, valuation, portfolio adjustment workflows.
• Leads quality initiatives to improve the delivery of service levels. Works with senior management in the planning, development, and execution of short- and long-range goals.  
• Presents status, metrics, and department initiatives at meetings with management and project peers. Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders to provide long-term collaborations and deliver successful business outcomes
• Build Modern Data Platforms: Deliver and optimize high-throughput streaming, analytics, and data services on AWS.
• Partner Across the Firm: Collaborate with Product Owners and front office business stakeholders to translate investment needs into high-quality, production-ready data capabilities.
• Enable the Future: Contribute to a modern data ecosystem that unlocks advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases for Front Office.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong foundation in software development processes and Agile delivery practices.
• Strong business acumen in Investment domain ETF, mutual fund, corporate action processing.
• Demonstrated expertise in:  
  • Event-driven architecture and deep technical expertise.
  • AWS data and streaming services
  • Proven ability to lead delivery teams, influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and communicate clearly at all levels.
  • A delivery-focused mindset with strong ownership, accountability, and a passion for building high-impact platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least five years of project management experience.

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
