Senior Business Analyst

Job Description
As part of Heathrow’s IT function, the Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in shaping and delivering technology solutions that support one of the world’s busiest and most complex airport environments. With an annual capital investment portfolio of around £120m, strong business analysis and requirements management are essential to ensuring Heathrow’s IT estate is resilient, secure, fit for purpose and easy to maintain.
Working end‑to‑end across the delivery lifecycle, the Senior Business Analyst translates complex business drivers into pragmatic IT solutions that deliver measurable benefits. Acting as a trusted advisor, they engage and influence senior stakeholders, lead a virtual team of analysts across in‑house and external centres of excellence, and help shape operating models, assure quality standards and mentor junior analysts to enable high‑quality, cost‑effective and transformational change.
Your role will involve
Develops and actively manages strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand business challenges and influence the IT capability required to drive change.
Owns and directs all business analysis activities across a broad domain, providing leadership to BA resources and acting as the authorised signatory for key BA and requirements deliverables.
Acts where poor practices or BA performance present a risk to successful delivery, product quality or achievement of business benefits.
Provides strategic business analysis to shape future business direction, influencing IT capability and presenting options and recommendations to Senior Sponsors and Project Boards.
Drives continuous improvement in the quality, range and efficiency of BA services, working with centres of excellence and strategic suppliers.
Leads, develops and coaches junior BAs, while maintaining a strong understanding of Heathrow, its IT strategy and enterprise architecture, and working collaboratively across functions to deliver robust, resilient IT solutions.
These skills are essential
Strong experience in business analysis within a complex, multi‑site environment, with a proven ability to drive change through technology.
Demonstrable experience of building, maintaining and influencing relationships with a wide range of senior internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead and direct a virtual business analyst team across the supply chain, shaping, owning and delivering a broad portfolio of work while responding to rapidly changing priorities.
Deep understanding of business analysis practices and software delivery methodologies, with a clear passion for driving continuous improvement within Business Analysis and Testing.
Excellent communication and networking skills, with experience of coaching and mentoring others.
High levels of energy, curiosity and enthusiasm, with the confidence to challenge the status quo; educated to degree level or equivalent (including apprenticeships).

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
