You will act as a subject matter expert for the Barclays People Screening Policy and associated Standards, supporting global Screening teams in delivering compliant and consistent employment screening activities. You will ensure adherence to policy and standards, provide guidance on screening escalations, and act as an escalation point for complex cases. You will support audit activity, identify and document screening and supplier contract‑related risks, review remediation plans for policy breaches, and ensure all activity aligns with regulatory & legal requirements, the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework, and internal Barclays policies. You will also collate data for regular and ad‑hoc reporting, attend service meetings, and manage issues relating to outsourced screening providers.
You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders across HR Operations, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition, building trusted partnerships and influencing at all levels. You will provide training and guidance on screening standards, support Talent Acquisition and business projects, and ensure consistent governance and controls are embedded within delivery models. Strong judgement and problem‑solving skills will enable you to identify and escalate risks appropriately, challenge constructively, and resolve complex issues with a commercial and risk‑aware approach in a regulated environment. You will be resilient under challenge and have the ability to be a credible and authoritative subject matter expert.
To be successful as an Employment Screening & Governance Analyst, you should have experience with:
Working knowledge of pre‑employment screening processes, ideally within a financial services environment.
Understanding of end‑to‑end resourcing and onboarding processes and policies.
Interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to different audiences.
Working knowledge of Risk and/or HR risk policies and their application.

Analytical with a good eye for detail.
Resilient under challenge and ability to be a credible and authoritative subject matter expert.
Experience of working with outsourced service supplier and or vendor oversight roles.
