UKG is the world leader in the design and manufacturing of timeclocks for Workforce Management. Our integrated timeclocks are used for tracking time and attendance, as well as for self-service features such as taking time off and checking accruals. These user-friendly devices run on an Android operating system and offer multiple options for card readers and power supply choices for seamless integration into a facility's infrastructure. These clocks are certified for safety and meet EMC compliance, allowing them to be sold in more than 50 countries.
Your Role: As an Electrical Design Engineer in our HW development team, you will have a unique opportunity to use the full breadth of your Electrical Engineering skills and experience from product conception through to end of life and be at the heart of our product innovation. Your responsibilities will include:
• Innovative Design: Develop new designs or enhance existing ones to address product life-cycle events, supply-chain challenges, and evolving customer needs.
• Problem Solving: Conduct root-cause analyses of critical customer defects and collaborate with our supply chain team and contract manufacturing partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Efficiency & Quality: Partner with manufacturing to create tests, procedures, and processes that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure top-quality products.
• Prototyping & Testing: Assemble and test prototypes and develop/maintain test procedures and circuit schematics that meet product specifications.
• Support & Management: Assist with testing for new product introductions and manage software tools and licenses used in manufacturing testing and product development.
 
What We’re Looking For:
• Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Proficiency in schematic capture and layout using Mentor, Cadence, Altium, KiCad, etc. tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with hardware and process issues
• Knowledge of Safety and EMC compliance for IT equipment
• Experience in analog design using op-amps, MOSFETs, and switching regulators
• Experience with Verilog or VHDL for FPGAs or CPLDs
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of microprocessor design, including PMIC and startup power synchronization
• Experience with RF card readers (NFC, 125 KHz)
• Familiarity with CE marking requirements for RF devices
• Experience with MIPI or LVDS circuit design for displays
• Proficiency in layout tools (PADS Professional, Expedition, Altium Designer)
• Experience with LabView, Python, and C/Assembly programming
Work Environment:
• Hybrid Model: Collaborate on-site in our Lowell, MA office at least three days a week, with flexibility for remote work. Occasionally, business needs may require additional on-site presence.

The pay range for this position is $86,100 to $123,800, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
