Why this job matters
The main responsibility for this role is diagnosing and solutioning Severity 1/Critical, Business Critical Severity 2/High incidents to resolution for Lloyds Banking Group to minimise outage/degradation time to the customer, within the BT Business UK Service operations environment 24x7x365. There are other critical tasks included in the job that support our customer across a number of other areas too, not limited to implementing Change activities, Life Cycle Management, BIS support for new technology, adhoc customer request work for value add that our contract prides itself on.
There is a need to work as part of a 24x7x365 team working together with peers and also in isolation at times depending on the needs of the contract. Interfacing with a number of different areas outside our immediate team to collaborate on solutions needed for the customer’s issues.
What you'll be doing
Form an integral part of our 24*7 shift team providing in-life technical support.
• Be a Subject Matter Expert for a wide range of technologies & security products.
• Detect, respond and resolve complex networking and security incidents, problems and changes within the operational environment.
• Provide 3rd line SME support, responsible for the high priority incident while resolving within the agreed SLA.
The skills required
Stakeholder management: Collaborative working with senior CFU stakeholders as well as working with senior customer counterparts during Major Incidents.
• Continuous improvement: knowledge and expertise to drive improvements and simplify processes as a result of major incidents to prevent further occurrence
• Industry recognised certifications or relevant experience. Preferably Cisco CCIE but as a minimum CCNP.
• Primarily a high level of Cisco, Fortinet and Avaya technical knowledge including
- Cisco LAN/ACI product suites
- Cisco WAN/SDWAN product suites
- Cisco Security product suites
- Fortinet Security product suites
- Avaya Call CentreVoice product suites
• Legacy technology experience
• CISCO Wifi and ISE exposure
The experience needed
MANDATORY:
• 10+ years working within a Network engineering role.
• Experience of security operations.
• Extensive stakeholder management, working directly onsite with customers and their complex network solutions.
• Ability to take the lead on complex incidents where a number of different stakeholders are involved in a professional and concise way.
